Learn more about our Vision, purpose, values - AngloGold Ashanti POSITION Personal Assistant - Project Director DEPARTMENT ABU - Projects LOCATION Obuasi Gold Mine Ghana EMPLOYMENT STATUS CLOSING DATE Fixed Term 15th September 2026 OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE Support the Project Director and office by managing administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and handling confidential documents and reports, ensuring they are up to date, properly filed, and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Oversee and maintain an efficient and well-organized office administration system for medium and large projects within the Africa Business Unit Project under the guidance of the ABU project leadership team. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Model behaviour consistent with the AGA Safety Vision and Values, assist in driving a culture where safety is the first value, and provide support for incident and accident investigations where required. Maintain a professional image of the Project Director’s Office by ensuring a high level of written and verbal communication. Coordinate and schedule daily meetings, to-do items, and weekly and monthly calendar appointments to ensure a well-structured and organized administrative support function to the Project Director. Take minutes during meetings, type them up as an accurate and true reflection of meeting proceedings, and distribute them afterwards. Assist with the drafting of written documentation such as briefs, letters, reports, contracts, and proposals. Draft letters for general correspondence as requested by the Project Director. Compile and prepare confidential documents based on input provided by the Project Director. Assist in collating information for monthly and quarterly reports, acting on specific instructions. Assist with the preparation of presentation layouts and designs, putting relevant information together from various sources. Maintain correct and consistent visual expressions of the Company brand in all documentation, correspondence, and events. Maintain a filing system for all confidential correspondence and keep it up to date, ensuring the safekeeping of relevant documents. Ensure timely distribution of relevant information to internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, including access to the latest approved versions of technical documents and project plans. Implement and manage a document archiving system, ensuring that all project documentation is appropriately archived after project completion and remains accessible for future reference. Arrange all aspects of travel preparations, including applications for visas, passports, accommodation, and liaison with the Travel Section on all aspects. Assist visitors to the office of the Project Director executives with logistical support including meet and greet and logistics. Liaise with relevant mine officials for the smooth holding of events through careful planning, preparation, and organization. Promote a professional company image and brand at all times. Maintain office supplies and replenish stock as required. Ensure all aspects of commercial, legal, and financial corporate governance are implemented per AGA standards. Support the implementation of site initiatives such as fatigue management, Diversity and Inclusion, wellness programmes, and mentorship programme. Identify and report compliance violations and assist with investigations. Build capacity of team members on compliance-related matters including bribery and corruption, ethics, conflicts of interest, and gifts. Support the Project Director’s office to meet its environmental, community, and other obligations as prescribed in AGA policy. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Education & Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Science, or another qualification relevant to the role. Experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role supporting a senior executive. Relevant exposure to a project management environment. Knowledge & Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking. High level of skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and general computer literacy. Skilled in data review and development of summary tables and graphs in Excel. Experience developing presentations in PowerPoint and document review in Word. Calendar and scheduling capability. Microsoft 365 capability including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Docs and Sheets, mail merges, complex formatting, pivot tables, basic formulas, and presentation template design. Task and project tracking, digital workflow, and systems management capability. End-to-end booking and reporting capability. Data and file management capability.
