Analyst – Banks– Monterrey Fitch Ratings is seeking an Analyst to join its Banks group in Monterrey. With dual headquarters in London and New York, Fitch Group is owned by Hearst. We are currently looking for an Analyst to join our North American Banks team to be based out of our Monterrey office. In this role, candidates will work with senior members of the Banks team on all aspects of the rating process, covering major banks in the U.S. and Canada. We’ll Count on You To: Monitor a portfolio of issuer ratings, including the preparation of rating committee documentation. Perform data analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of banks, including financial data entry. Update and enhance internal analytical tools used for peer analysis and charts Provide active support to other senior members of the team in data collection, macro/microeconomic research, peer comparisons, internal tools, among other operational tasks. Closely follow market developments surrounding rated transactions and issuers Participate in internal discussions on sector-wide credit issues that could lead to publication of research reports. Provide timely response to issue rating requests, review issuance terms and provide preliminary analytical input. Propose improved processes for the capture and synthesis of market-relevant information. What You Need to Have: 1-2 years of experience Bachelor’s Degree. Finance-related degree desired, but open to other degrees. Understanding of financial statements. Strong analytical, quantitative and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change. Technical Proficiency (Excel/Word/PowerPoint, Data Analytics). Resourcefulness in terms of managing challenges associated with data collection and analysis Self-motivated and enthusiastic. Able to work independently yet contribute to team objectives.
