Long Description JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for container inventory accuracy, cycle count execution, tracking of all packaging assets, and providing logistics support to ensure uninterrupted material flow. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on packaging utilization, inventory accuracy, freight optimization, and operational efficiency. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Coordinate activities required to support production demand and satisfy supplier and customer requirements. 2. Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, production disruptions, and premium freight costs. 3. Provide logistics support for inbound and outbound material movements, packaging shipments, inventory transfers, and transportation-related activities. 4. Develop packaging concepts for new programs and projects, ensuring participation from Operations, Quality, Engineering, Suppliers, and Customers. 5. Perform scheduled cycle counts and physical inventories of containers, packaging assets, and related inventory; investigate discrepancies, reconcile inventory records, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 6. Maintain accurate inventory records within SAP and other systems, ensuring timely transaction processing and inventory integrity. 7. Analyze inventory variances, identify root causes of inventory inaccuracies, and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory control processes. 8. Understand and execute requirements within external customer systems (eDDL, SMART, Supply Solutions, GM SupplyPower, etc.), ensuring management visibility of packaging and logistics issues. 9. Support transportation and freight optimization initiatives to reduce costs and improve container utilization. 10. Support and drive continuous improvement activities related to inventory accuracy, logistics efficiency, packaging management, and operational performance. 11. Cooperate with internal, external, and customer audits, supporting site initiatives to achieve and maintain quality and environmental certifications (IATF, ISO, etc.). 12. Adhere to Team Handbook, Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures. 13. Ensure all safety devices are utilized properly, material handling procedures are followed, required PPE is worn, and all near misses, injuries, and incidents are reported immediately. 14. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. High School Diploma or GED required. 2. 1-3 years of experience in Materials, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Packaging, or Logistics. 3. Experience performing cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and inventory management activities preferred. 4. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 5. SAP experience preferred but not required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 2. Familiarity with SAP and inventory management transactions strongly preferred. 3. Knowledge of inventory control practices, cycle count methodologies, and root cause analysis. 4. Understanding of logistics, transportation, material flow, and packaging management principles. 5. Highly detail-oriented and organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 7. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 8. Motivated self-starter and creative thinker who seeks opportunities for improvement. 9. Ability to set priorities and determine resource requirements with limited supervision. 10. Team-oriented with familiarity in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. 11. Strong business judgment and decision-making skills. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION 1. Must be able to pass physical and obtain Powered Industrial Vehicle operator license; 2. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 3.
