Here at GXO , we’re looking for an HR Compliance & Data Governance Manager to join our growing People Services team. This newly created role offers a genuine opportunity to shape and embed our HR compliance, governance and data integrity framework across GXO UK&I. Your initial focus will be establishing the frameworks, controls, standards and ways of working that will support the function’s continued growth. You’ll lead a developing team of Compliance Specialists, working closely with colleagues across HR, Payroll, Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, HR Technology and Operations to strengthen governance, improve data quality and ensure ongoing audit readiness. Working pattern: This opportunity is on a full time, permanent basis with a working location of Northampton. We offer a hybrid working set up, with days per week in the office as well as at home. What you'll do on a typical day: Shape and embed the People Services compliance and governance framework, establishing clear standards, controls and processes across the employee lifecycle Own HR data governance , improving the quality, integrity, consistency and transparency of people data across HR systems and reporting Lead audit and assurance activity , maintaining audit readiness, monitoring risks and overseeing actions arising from internal and external audits Partner with key stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Legal, Risk, Internal Audit and Technology, influencing decisions that affect compliance, controls and data quality Lead and develop your team , creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and risk awareness while driving automation, simplification and standardisation What you need to succeed at GXO: Strong experience within HR Operations, People Services, Shared Services or HR Compliance , gained within a large or complex organisation Proven experience building or improving governance frameworks , compliance processes, controls, assurance activity or risk-management approaches A good understanding of HR compliance and data governance , including areas such as GDPR, Right to Work, DSAR’s, employment documentation, HR data quality and audit requirements. Confident leadership and influencing skills , with experience coaching and developing teams while building credibility with stakeholders at all levels A strategic but hands-on approach , with the ability to use data and insight to drive change, improve processes and deliver practical solutions.
