Our Opportunity: The Creative Director is a visionary leader responsible for shaping and executing the visual and creative identity of Purdue Global. This role will lead a team of designers, copywriters, and multimedia specialists to develop compelling and effective marketing materials across all channels. The Creative Director ensures brand consistency, elevates the quality of creative output, and drives innovation in our marketing efforts. This role is crucial in attracting prospective students, engaging current students, and strengthening the overall brand perception of Purdue Global. What to expect in this role: Creative Vision & Strategy: Articulate a clear and compelling creative vision for Purdue Global that is aligned with our brand and marketing strategy along with our business objectives. Translate marketing objectives and audience insights into innovative and effective creative concepts. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design, marketing, and higher education. Champion a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the creative team. Creative Execution & Production: Oversee the development and production of all marketing materials, including: Digital advertising (display, social media, video) Website design and content Email marketing templates and content Social media graphics and videos Presentations and other internal communications materials Event materials (as needed) Ensure all creative output is on-brand, visually appealing, and effectively communicates the desired message. Manage the creative workflow, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all creative work. Adoption and Oversight of AI Tools: Evaluate, integrate, and oversee the ethical and effective use of generative AI tools (e.g., image generation, copywriting assistance) within the creative team’s workflow. Develop internal guidelines and best practices for leveraging AI to enhance creative efficiency and output while maintaining brand integrity and originality. Ensure team members are properly trained on new AI technologies and their appropriate application in creative production. Monitor industry developments in AI/ML as they relate to creative production and recommend strategic adoption of relevant tools. Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, copywriters, and multimedia specialists. Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Manage team resources effectively, including workload allocation and project prioritization. Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members as needed. Brand Stewardship: Serve as a guardian of the Purdue Global brand. Ensure brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints. Maintain brand guidelines and style guides. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Admissions, Academics) to ensure brand alignment. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the CMO and other marketing leaders to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., web developers, IT, academic program directors) to ensure seamless execution of creative projects. Present creative concepts and strategies to stakeholders, effectively communicating the rationale and impact of creative decisions. Manage relationships with external vendors (e.g., agencies, freelancers) as needed. Data & Analytics: Utilize data and analytics to inform creative decisions and measure the effectiveness of creative campaigns. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to creative performance. Continuously optimize creative assets based on data-driven insights. Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably in an agency or in-house marketing department. Experience in higher education marketing is highly desirable. Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels. Experience managing and mentoring a creative team. Experience working with and managing external vendors. Experience with video production and editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects) is a plus. Remote, with occasional travel as needed. What we're looking for: Exceptional creative vision and strategic thinking abilities. Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual communication. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. A passion for higher education and a commitment to student success. Understanding of UX/UI best practices. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) for digital content. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as well as Google applications such as Gmail, Chat and Meet.
