To strengthen their presence for one of their subsidiaries, Endress+Hauser Temperature + System Products is looking for a Production Manager India to join their team. The Position Entity: Endress+Hauser Temperature + System Products Position: Purchase Engineer – of APC Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Associated Product Centre) Job Title: Purchase Engineer Location: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, India Reporting to: Head of Supply Chain Management Responsibilities The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for sourcing quality materials and services at optimum cost while ensuring timely availability to support production and customer delivery requirements. The role will contribute to operational purchasing, delivery performance, inventory optimization, cost improvement, and disciplined procurement data management. Purpose of the role, responsibilities and deliverables: 1. Operational Purchasing Procure materials as per approved purchase requisitions, production plans, and project requirements. Release purchase orders in time and follow up with suppliers for committed delivery schedules. Monitor shortages, expedite critical materials, and proactively prevent production disruptions. Coordinate with production planning, stores, quality, engineering, finance, and suppliers for smooth material flow. 2. Supplier Management Support supplier capability assessment, supplier audits, and corrective action follow-up. Monitor supplier performance for Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Service. Drive supplier improvement actions for delivery reliability, quality performance, and responsiveness. 3. Material Planning and Inventory Control Review safety stock, reorder levels, lead times, and inventory coverage for assigned materials. Work towards optimum inventory while maintaining uninterrupted production support. Analyze slow-moving, excess, and obsolete stock and support corrective actions. Maintain discipline in planning parameters and procurement master data. 4. Cost Optimization and Negotiation Support price negotiations, cost comparison, and purchase price variance improvement. Contribute to annual cost saving and productivity improvement targets. Maintain transparent commercial records and negotiation documentation. 5. Quality, Compliance, and Documentation Ensure purchased materials comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements. Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Engineering teams for supplier-quality issues and corrective actions. Maintain procurement records, supplier communication, quotation comparaisons, and approval documentation. Follow company procurement policies, ethical standards, and compliance requirements. 6. Digital Procurement and Reporting Maintain accurate SAP MM data for suppliers, purchase orders, pricing, lead times, and material masters. Prepare procurement KPI reports covering supplier delivery, shortages, inventory, cost savings, and open orders. Use Excel and digital tools for data analysis, follow-up tracking, and continuous improvement. Support SCM digitalization, automation, and process standardization initiatives. The Person – Profile & Requirements Education & Experience Minimum Qualification: Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Automobile, or related Engineering discipline. 7 - 8 years of professional experience in Purchase, Procurement, Vendor Development, Supply Chain, Material Planning in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Background in Engineering manufacturing, instrumentation, industrial automation, automotive, electronics, process industry, or similar MNC environment.
