The Photo & Video Production Assistant creates photography, video, and digital content supporting Housing & Residential Education’s marketing, communication, and training initiatives. The role focuses on independently capturing and editing content for events, promotional projects, social media, and other departmental needs.
Working under the direction of the Multimedia Developer, assistants are expected to manage assigned work with limited supervision, make creative and technical decisions in the field, and lead smaller-scale projects when appropriate. This is a hands-on role for students with foundational photography and/or video production experience who are dependable, creative, and comfortable working independently.
• Capture photo and video content for social media, events, promotional projects, and other departmental needs • Edit photo and video content using Adobe Creative Cloud applications • Determine appropriate shots, composition, exposure, focus, coverage, and technical settings • Lead assigned tasks and smaller projects from production through delivery • Operate cameras, audio, lighting, and support equipment • Organize and manage photos, footage, project files, and media assets • Apply creative direction while ensuring content meets USF and departmental standards • Manage deadlines, collaborate with team members, and communicate progress or challenges proactively
Minimum Qualifications • Currently enrolled USF student in good academic standing • Demonstrated experience in photography and/or video production • Experience operating a DSLR, mirrorless, or similar camera • Experience editing photo and/or video content using Adobe Creative Cloud applications • Basic understanding of exposure, composition, focus, and photo/video production fundamentals • Ability to independently capture and edit assigned content with limited supervision • Portfolio, demo reel, or examples of previous photo and/or video work (must upload portfolio when applying to this position) Preferred Qualifications • Experience in both photography and video production • Experience creating short-form or social-first photo/video content • Experience covering events, portraits, interviews, promotional projects, or social media content • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, After Effects, or other production tools • Familiarity with lighting, audio equipment, gimbals, and other production equipment
