About this role
MAJOR FUNCTION: The Operating Room Scrub Technician is a key member of the perioperative team who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse and surgeon to support safe, high‑quality surgical care. The Scrub Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining the sterile field, and providing instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures. This role requires adherence to aseptic technique, infection prevention standards, and established surgical policies while anticipating the needs of the surgical team across all phases of the operative process. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience:
• High School graduate or equivalent required. • Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology program and associated hours. • Previous experience of functioning as a Scrub Technician in an Operating Room setting preferred • Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile field maintenance, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols • Ability to anticipate surgeon and procedural needs across a variety of surgical specialties • Experience assisting with surgical counts, specimen handling, patient positioning, prepping, and draping • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team • Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to support patient safety Certification/Licensure:
• BLS required.
