HSC Research Associate- TCHATT
Position Description: Performs specialized work in the planning, conducting and/or supervising of original research at TTUHSC. Responsible for participating in, planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.
Major/Essential Functions: • Enters data in the TCHATT, ECHO, and CPAN database systems. • Assists with creating new surveys, spreadsheets, and files related to data management. • Cleans data and removes inaccurate measures from tables, datasets, and databases. • Uses analytical and logical methods to describe and evaluate datasets (advanced Excel skills). • Guarantees adherence to regulations. • Assisted with compiling information for monthly data reports for all programs. • Stays up-to-date with iECHO • Follows protocols for the retrieval and analysis of ongoing data storages. • Assists with troubleshoots data-related problems. • Regularly monitors and evaluates information and data systems that could affect analytical results. • Prepares requested data accurately and thoroughly for statistical analyses and reports. • Stays up-to-date with statistical software (e.g., SPSS and Excel). • Stays up-to-date with qualitative software (e.g., Qualtircs). • Assists with developing data management strategies. • Maintains and updates professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops and serving on special committees.
Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in Social Science (i.e., Psychology and Human Development). • Experience with sound research methods and analysis. • Experience in child and adolescent mental health or closely related field. • Experience with peer reviewed publications and professional presentations. • Experience and knowledge with statistical package for the social sciences, Excel, and Qualtrics.
Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. Required Qualifications: Master's degree or specialized academic training beyond the bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a master's degree. One year research experience. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.

Visa Information: TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
