About this role

Job summary

The post holder will provide senior specialist PSIRF, clinical quality and patient safety leadership, advice and expertise, and will lead on all PSIRF and patient safety related activities; as well as playing a key role in providing advice and support to the Hounslow Mental Health Borough, ensuring a seamless PSIRF quality response for the areas that they oversee.

The post holder will also provide leadership and oversight for all patient experience, audit, inquest and regulatory functions undertaken within the borough and / or service(s).

Main duties of the job

To support the Trust and borough(s) / service(s) regarding: PSIRF, patient safety, clinical assurance, PSIs, formal complaints, patient feedback and all associated learning.

To provide specialist expertise and oversight whilst contributing to delivering the Trust-wide safety agenda and achieving the Trust quality priorities.

To support the borough director, service managers and staff to discharge their responsibilities in the delivery of PSIRF and other safety related issues, including patient experience, quality assurance and meeting the required statutory and mandatory quality and governance requirements.Contribute to, and lead, on the development of quality, safety and patient experience reports for regular and ad hoc meetings.

To advise the Borough Director on all PSIRF and safety issues, as well as wider clinical quality issues that affect the borough(s) / service(s) they are supporting.

Qualifications and Training Essential

Educated to masters level (or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area)

Desirable

Clinical registration with a professional body

Experience Essential

Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development Practical involvement with delivering or designing PSIRF response plans Ability to understand a broad range of complex information quickly and make decisions where opinions differ or where there is no obvious solution

Desirable

Experience of managing clinical services and an understanding of the complexity of managing quality and safety in a clinical setting

Knowledge Essential

Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent Understand the embedding and practical application of PSIRF

Desirable

Working knowledge of Datix incident reporting system.
