About this role

Job summary

The Deputy Director of Analytics and Insights is the Trust's senior leader for data, insight and analytics; setting the vision, operating model and standards that make SABP an insight-driven organisation. The postholder ensures executive, divisional and operational decision-making isconsistently supported by timely, trusted, decision-grade insight, and builds a strategic analyticscapability that moves beyond reporting to explain, predict and improve outcomes and productivity.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will lead an integrated analytics service that:o provides a single, transparent route for analytics demand, prioritisation and delivery.o establishes metric ownership, definitions and data governance to deliver a single version of truth.o modernises and rationalises the reporting and dashboard estate to focus capacity on high value insight.o builds strategic analytics capability to support quality, safety, performance, productivity and inequalities; ando delivers the Trust's Business Intelligence (BI) optimisation change programme through the Digital Strategy Implementation portfolio with measurable outcomes and adoption.

This is a senior leadership role operating across Trust priorities, with influence across clinical, operational, corporate and digital leadership

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field (data/analytics/informatics/statistics/health/engineering/economics) Evidence of continuing professional development in analytics, data governance, digital/data platforms, or improvement

Desirable

Postgraduate qualification (MSc, MBA, Masters in statistics/data science) Professional accreditation/recognised training aligned to senior NHS data roles

Experience Essential

Significant senior leadership experience in BI/analytics/data within NHS or a comparable complex regulated environment. Track record of designing and delivering an analytics operating model (demand management, prioritisation, standards, governance, adoption). Experience of providing executive-level assurance and narrative, turning complex datasets into clear insight and decision options. Experience implementing metric definitions/ownership frameworks and improving data quality and trust. Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, set standards, and deliver change at pace.

Desirable

Experience leading advanced analytics (modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis, productivity/capacity analysis) and evaluation-style work to inform strategic decisions. Experience developing business cases/option appraisals. Experience operating at system level (ICS/region) and influencing senior stakeholders. Experience of using and implementing FDP solutions.
