About this role

Job summary

This post offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Nursing Team.

You will provide administrative and analyst support to the senior team, and cross-cover with other members of the admin team. Working with a range of providers and stakeholders, you will work across the Nursing Team and with other NHSBT Directorates and Teams.

Excellent organisational and administration skills are essential, as is the ability to analyse complex information and present findings to the team. You must be comfortable liaising with professional colleagues at all levels, and able to take the initiative in responding to enquiries.

Main duties of the job

The Business Support Officer is a key member of the Nursing Team. The post holder will support members of the Nursing Team to provide services for staff across NHSBT and Service Users. In this role your day to day responsibilities will include:-

Playing a key role in managing business administration for the Nursing Team and complying with all principles and policies of data protection and confidentialityTaking ownership of aspects of the Nursing Team portfolio ensuring timely communication with internal / external stakeholders in line with the reporting cycle.Assisting in planning Nursing meetings, including taking responsibility for setting time frames for required agenda items and taking formal minutes, as well as booking meeting venues.Taking responsibility for scheduling and allocation of business administration workload.Taking responsibility for providing formal minutes of both external and internal meetings, as well as providing comprehensive action logs.Producing high-quality materials for meetings, including PowerPoint presentations and word documentsWillingness and ability to undertake travel and spend time away from base to meet the requirements of the post, including overnight stays when required (with appropriate prior notice).

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Educated to OCS (RSA) level III in text processing or equivalent experience. Educated to NVQ Level 4 in a business subject or equivalent qualification or experience

Experience Essential

Ability to analyse and present a wide range of management information. Previous experience of working with Senior Management in an advanced secretarial or administrative post. Advanced ability to use Microsoft office packages and to produce reports and correspondence in a professional and accurate format.
