Salary: £25,272 per annum/pro rata

Location: Fleet Medical Campus, Vale Road, Northfleet

Schedule: Monday-Thursday (3 days 8:00-18:00 and 1 day 8:00 - 17:30)

We are recruiting for a Admin Assistant/Receptionist who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best Peopleand has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Main duties of the job

Greeting and booking patients in at reception, checking and amending demographics as appropriate. Monitoring calls and managing emails. Making sure patients are added to wait lists for diagnostics.

To provide reception, general clerical and administrative support to the Rheumatology department. To develop a basic understanding of Rheumatology procedures to provide first line assistance to patients and staff.

To ensure that clinic appointments are cashed up and that any appropriate actions are undertaken including booking follow up appointments and escalating issues.

Job description Job responsibilities

Organise and book departmental clinics hospital databases ensuring that all necessary documentation is available and all patient information is correct, amending where needed.

Greet our patients, answering any queries they may have and dealing with any general problems they may have during their visit.

Manage constant and sometimes complex telephone enquiries, relaying messages and referring calls as appropriate.

Deal with queries from Medical staff, pathway coordinators and other departments regarding booking or amending of appointments, and issuing test results.

Please note: This role is based at Fleet Medical Centre in Northfleet and not Medway Hospital.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Educated to GCSE level or above, minimum of 3 GCSEs A-C grade

Knowledge Essential

Knowledge of internal IT systems Knowledge of basic administrative duties

Experience Essential

Reception/admin experience, preferable in a healthcare setting

Skills Essential

Excellent Communication skills Ability to prioritise workload Competent in using Microsoft Packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel
