About this role

Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a enthusiastic and hardworking doctor to join our General Medicine Departments as Junior Specialist doctors at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. These post will be 12 months fixed term posts in the first instance, starting as soon as possible with the possibility of longer term opportunities within the Trust, subject to performance and progress. These posts would be aimed at junior grade CT/ST 1-2 level (ie 2 years post qualification level) and whilst not approved training posts we would endeavor to provide training opportunities. The Junior Specialist Doctor - Lower - General Medicine posts will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive General Medicine environment, giving you wide ranging clinical exposure in a progressive Trust that has won numerous national and local awards. We would be keen to work with successful applicants and help you continue to build your General Medicine Career. We envisage that the JSD post would act as a stepping stone into specialty training as you continue to pursue membership exams.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must have considerable experience - post qualification, full GMC Registration with a license to practice and up to date ALS certification. Considerable acute hospital experience at Resident Doctor level or equivalent is essential. Previous General Medicine experience is essential and knowledge of the workings of the NHS is preferable.

Person Specification

Qualifications: Essential

oPrimary medical qualification (MBBS/MBBCH) or equivalent oALS

Desirable

oRecord of high academic achievement (honours, prizes etc). oTeaching Experience

Clinical Experience: Essential

oRecent Clinical training and experience post qualification at time of commencement of JSD post Experience in the admission of acute medical emergencies and recent experience with acute unselected medical intake

Clinical Effectiveness Essential

oExperience of conducting clinical audit

Other Requirements Essential

oFull GMC Registration and licence to practice
