We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Leicester. A category B men's prison located in the centre of Leciester on Welford Road.

7.30am 6pm Days 8.15pm - 7.45am Night Salary You'll recieve an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum - dependent on expereince How will we support you?

Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages Support the nursing team with all aspects of care Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients You will primarily be working within the Primary care team, although may be required to carry out duties in the departments - SMS, Mental Health etc. If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Our new Healthcare Assistant will: Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable! Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting Have clinical experience - venepuncture, ECGs etc Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
