About this role

Job summary

We're looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our friendly, innovative, and busy team at Erewash Health Partnership, based in Long Eaton.

You'll become part of an established practice team, supporting our patients with a wide range of clinical services while helping us keep pace with the changing demands of primary care. Previous experience in a GP practice setting would be an advantage, but we welcome applications from candidates who bring the right skills, attitude, and willingness to learn.

You'll need to be flexible with your working hours, as the role includes covering early mornings, evenings, and occasional Saturdays in line with NHS England requirements.

Main duties of the job

Working under the supervision of our Lead Practice Nurse, you'll play a key role in delivering care and support across the practice, including:

NHS Health Checks, phlebotomy, and urinalysis ECG recording and weight/height monitoring Wound and leg ulcer dressings Administering flu, pneumococcal, B12, and shingles vaccinations Chaperoning duties and supporting minor surgery/LARC procedures Diabetic foot checks and other QOF-related duties Smoking cessation advice and general health promotion Stock ordering, clinical room restocking, and infection control support Accurately recording patient consultations on the System1 clinical system This list isn't exhaustive there'll be variety in your day-to-day work, and opportunities to develop new clinical skills as part of the team

About us

Erewash Health Partnership (EHP) was established on 1 April 2018 and is a single GP Partnership comprising of six constituent practices (see below). EHP employs approximately 250 people who work within the six constituent practices and within the EHP central team, which provides support services e.g., finance, operational, data & performance etc.

As well as providing high quality core primary care services, EHP is the prime provider for delivering services to Erewash Primary Care Network (EPCN), as well as operating its own services for EHP Partners.

EHP is governed by the EHP Senior Leadership Team reporting to the EHP Board which meets quarterly. The Board currently consists of one GP Partner from each constituent practice and the EHP Managing Partner & CEO, with other colleagues in attendance.

Constituent Practices

EHP consists of 6 GP constituent practices who are contracted to deliver primary care services to their registered patient population through a GMS or PMS contract. The practices range in size from approximately 3,500 patients to 19,000 patients.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Good standard of literacy and numeracy NVQ Level 3 or completed Care Certificate Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage your own workload Computer literacy, ideally with System1 experience Awareness of infection control practices Up to date with Basic Life Support and Safeguarding training A calm, adaptable approach and the ability to work well under pressure A clear understanding of, and commitment to, patient confidentiality Desirable:

Previous experience in a GP practice Experience supporting vulnerable patients, including those with learning difficulties Experience working with patients of all ages Existing skills in phlebotomy, ECG, wound care, injections, and related clinical procedures
