RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Union Diesel Mechanic Journeyman to perform maintenance and repairs on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks. • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs. • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. • Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Performs diagnostics and repairs on engine, aftertreatment, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V and CAN) • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. . REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. • Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair. • Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position. • Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions. • The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
