Job Title: Human Resources AssistantJob DescriptionThe Human Resources Assistant supports a wide range of HR and administrative activities, including onboarding, employee record management, payroll timekeeping, and general HR support. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, and providing professional service to employees and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced office environment.Responsibilities
• Assist with the full onboarding process, including preparing new hire documentation, coordinating orientations, and shadowing I-9 and E-Verify processes to ensure compliance. • Maintain and update employee records within HR systems and HRIS (if applicable), ensuring strict confidentiality, accuracy, and data integrity. • Support payroll processing by accurately tracking and managing employee timekeeping information. • Alphabetize and file documents in the physical file cabinet system to maintain an organized and accessible records archive. • Scan and organize employee documents on the computer according to subject matter and established filing protocols. • Shred scanned documents after completing necessary verifications to support secure document disposal and confidentiality requirements. • Assist with audits as needed, including reviewing bills, employee information, and documentation to support compliance and accuracy. • Record performance notes, incidents, and attendance details into employee overviews and tracking systems. • Compile screening and tracking documents, organize them in Excel, and maintain accurate logs and reports. • Perform a variety of evolving Microsoft Office and HRIS duties and projects as assigned, adapting to changing HR needs. • Provide general HR support in areas such as employee relations, recruitment coordination, benefits-related documentation, and compliance tasks. • Offer administrative and clerical support, including filing, data entry, and document management, to ensure smooth HR operations. Essential Skills
• Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records. • Knowledge of onboarding processes and new hire documentation. • Familiarity with HRIS or HR systems for managing employee information (preferred but not required). • Ability to support payroll-related timekeeping activities. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, for organizing and tracking data. • Strong administrative and clerical skills, including filing and document organization. • Understanding of basic human resources functions such as HR administration, employee relations, and recruitment support. • Ability to handle confidential information with a high degree of integrity and ethics. • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills. • High level of organization with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. • Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm and professional. • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an office setting and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves regular use of computers, HR systems, and Microsoft Office applications, as well as handling physical files and documents. The dress code is business attire, typically slacks and a nice shirt. The environment values professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to work efficiently in a structured, deadline-driven setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fresno, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
