The Opportunity Abbott Core Diagnostics is seeking a Technical Application Specialist Intern to join our team in Johannesburg. This internship is designed for recent graduates looking to gain practical experience within a leading global healthcare company. As a Technical Application Specialist Intern, you will receive exposure to customer training, technical support, instrument installations, troubleshooting, and laboratory diagnostics. You will work alongside experienced Technical Application Specialists and Field Service Engineers while building technical and customer-facing skills in a professional environment
What You Will Learn
• Support instrument installations, validations, and verification activities. • Assist with customer training and user support activities. • Develop technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Gain exposure to diagnostic laboratory environments. • Support customers with product-related queries and technical assistance. • Collaborate with Technical Application Specialists, Field Service Engineers, and commercial teams. • Learn how to analyse instrument performance and identify improvement opportunities. • Participate in technical workshops and coaching sessions. • Gain exposure to technical report writing and documentation. • Develop knowledge of Abbott's diagnostic systems and technologies. Minimum Requirements
• Completed National Diploma or Honours + Degree (you may not be currently studying it must be completed ) in one of the following disciplines: Medical Technology , Biomedical Sciences or Medical Sciences or Related
• MUST have no formal work experience and cannot be currently working.
• Previous In-Service Training or Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience will be advantageous.
• Strong interest in healthcare technology and diagnostics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A valid South African driver's licence is essential.
• Reliable daily access to a vehicle is preferred.
• Must be based in Gauteng and willing to travel within surrounding areas.
• Available to start immediately.
