Job SummaryThis position is located at: Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA) - Fort Hood, Texas. This announcement is in conjunction with the Fort Hood Job Fair on Wednesday May 20, 2026. QualificationsResumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": At least 6 Months experience executing multiple recreation programs. OR Applicants pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program will be considered highly qualified. Highly Preferred Criteria NOTE: Applicants who met both minimum qualifications and best qualifying criteria will be referred to the selecting official for consideration first. To be evaluated as a highly preferred candidate, your resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the highly qualified criteria above. Major DutiesIncumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority.Works under general supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist, instructing groups in a variety of outdoor recreation programs.Uses a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to participants a wide range of activities such as rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and challenge courses.Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local areas as the position requires providing information to customers.Reports any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to guests.
