The Computed Tomography Technologist II is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under general supervision, this position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the Human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.
Essential Job Function:
• Operates head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer generated cross-sectional image, commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan. • Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks. • Completes all exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying all charges associated with studies and addressing errors for a seamless workflow. • Educates and prepares patients for their examinations to enhance patient understanding and cooperation during testing and promote a positive patient experience. • Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to eliminate errors and enhance patient outcomes. • Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to eliminate errors and enhance patient outcomes. • To be considered for a Tech 2 or Tech 3 promotion, the team member should be fully proficient in all the normal and expected duties of their position. • A team member should have shown an interest in further development, either by asking for additional tasks/responsibilities, volunteering, or some other show of self-motivation. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. • Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related Educational Program.
Experience:
• Required: Minimum 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
• Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. • Will accept any of the following licenses: ARRT, RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT)NMTCB- CNMT, NMTCB(CT). • Combination- ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) or CNMT, ARRT(CT), ARRT RT(R), NMTCB(CT), ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT).
