About this role
The Corporate Strategy Group partners with R&D, Commercial and other leaders to drive mission-critical initiatives that support the long-term ambitions of the enterprise and make a meaningful difference for AbbVie’s patients.
The Director, Corporate Strategy Group will be responsible for driving high-impact strategic initiatives, facilitating robust enterprise-level strategic planning, and monitoring and assessing AbbVie’s external environment. This highly visible role provides exposure to executive leadership and may serve as a pathway to broader leadership opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate enterprise discussions on external trends, competitor strategies and potential disruptors, and translate these to strategic choicesShape our corporate priorities; drive clarity and alignment on our sources of growth (therapeutic areas, modalities, platform capabilities, etc.)Lead high-priority strategic initiatives that will drive transformative change and position AbbVie for future successProvide targeted support for AbbVie’s long-range strategic planning process, including working with leaders to share their strategies with AbbVie’s Board of DirectorsPartner with and advise senior leadership team on topics relevant to their own functional areasSupport communication of AbbVie’s strategy across the enterprise Master’s degree required; PhD or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences, etc.) preferredMinimum of three years of experience in a top-tier consulting firm with healthcare experienceDemonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and drive alignment across senior leaders; ability to influence without authorityStrong analytical skills with working knowledge of financial conceptsStrong oral, facilitation, and written communication skills with ability to distill complex information into clear messages and deliverablesExecutive presence, comfort with ambiguity, and strong judgmentThis is a hybrid role requiring at least three (3) days onsite, Tuesday through Thursday, in our North Chicago, IL offices. The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.This job is eligible to participate in our long-term incentive programs. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
