District of ChetwyndMechanic CoordinatorFULL-TIME POSITION DEPARTMENT: Engineering & Public Works STATUS: Full-time CLASSIFICATION: Mechanic Coordinator UNION: CUPE Local 3052 HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week WAGES: $42.93 - $44.69 per hour Join us at the District of Chetwynd - we have an opening for a full-time Mechanic Coordinator. This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the machine shop, works yard, and related facilities, equipment, vehicles, and tools; the operation, servicing and maintenance of equipment utilized in construction, maintenance and repair activities; and performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance of municipal infrastructure including roads, grounds, and utility systems. The successful candidate will have a valid BC Driver?s License minimum Class 3 with air endorsement, successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship in an applicable trade and will possess a journeyman certificate valid in BC or equivalent experience/working knowledge. Will be physically capable of performing the required duties. The ideal candidate will have experience operating the following heavy equipment: backhoe, grader, sanding truck, water truck, tandem truck, and loader.
