Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Corrections. Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Crime prevention. Work setting: Urban area. Half-way house. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Administrative and office activities. Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Refer offenders to community and social services programs. Housekeeping activities. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Assist offenders in pre-release and release planning. Supervision: 16-20 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Mental health first aid Certificate. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Target audience: Aboriginal groups. Culturally diverse groups. Males.
