Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces. Train workers in duties and policies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification. Instruct apprentices. Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade. Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. 3-4 people. Cement finishers. Swimming pool installers. Apprentices. Labourers.
