Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Various locations. Industrial. Construction site. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Ensure safety procedures are followed. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Types of systems: Refrigeration. Equipment and machinery experience: Welding. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer.
