Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Maintain equipment and supplies. Write daily basic progress reports. Construct and repair wood or metal supports and structures. Attach and extend ventilation and water pipes and related mine services. Assist miners in setting up and operating drilling and other mining machinery. Maintain supply storage areas. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Visually inspect products for quality. Utilize hand and power tools. Open valves and start pumps. Operate and maintain drilling mud systems and pumps. Move tools, equipment and other materials. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Hazardous products handling and storage. Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials. Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Clean and maintain equipment. Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties. Troubleshoot problems related to equipment. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Operate or direct the operation of wireline or unit controls to lower, position and retrieve equipment and instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate.
