About this role
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Building Maintenance PPM Operative to join our Site Services team. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), statutory compliance testing, and general building maintenance to ensure our facilities remain safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.
You'll carry out a range of planned maintenance and compliance activities, including: Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)Weekly fire alarm and fire sprinkler testingEmergency lighting testingPortable Appliance Testing (PAT)Fire door inspectionsLadder and step ladder inspectionsDrainage and sump pump inspectionsGeneral building and plant room inspectionsMinor maintenance and repair worksRecording maintenance activities and compliance checksReporting defects and supporting specialist contractorsEnsuring all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures Essential Experience/Qualifications Experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a similar maintenance roleKnowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)Good practical maintenance skills and a proactive approach to problem solvingExcellent organisational and communication skillsThe ability to work independently and manage their own workloadA strong commitment to health, safety, and quality Desirable: Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) qualification or experienceExperience with fire alarm, fire sprinkler, emergency lighting or fire door inspectionsBasic plumbing, electrical or mechanical maintenance skills Key Skills: Good communication skillsGood people skillsAble to work to deadlinesAble to multitask and prioritise workloadAble to make decisions and self-manage Able to work in a team and on own initiativeAble to function effectively across a number of interrelated departmentsSelf-motivated and willing to learnHave a can-do attitude with an enthusiastic approach to workBasic computer skillsMethodical, organised and structured approach to workExcellent attention to detailAble to work in a safe manner complying with Health and Safety LegislationAble to act in a fair and reasonable wayHigh level of commitmentFlexibility to work additional hours if required to support the facility Hours of Work: 40 hours per weekMonday to Friday 08:00am - 16:30pm Equal Opportunities:
