Qualifications
• Valid Florida teaching certificate. • Current employee of the School District of Lee County. • Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to relate to and inspire confidence in students. • Knowledge of and experience with organizing student activities and events. • Interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and managerial skills. • Oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work with and lead diverse groups of people. • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard computer applications. • Ability to administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness, injury, or life-threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines. • Assist Intramural Director in all duties. • Follow established eligibility procedures and waivers according to the Intramural Handbook. • Teach and coach the fundamentals of the sport. • Stress good sportsmanship, leadership, respect for school and teachers, fair play, and academic success. • Assist coaches in the recruitment of students, publicize activities, and maintain records. • Assume the duties and responsibilities of the Intramural Director in his/her absence. • Attend all coaches meetings. • Attend the District’s annual First Aid/Trainers course. • Provide for proper supervision on campus at all times. • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to students. • Organize, supervise, and coordinate all meetings and activities which occur during the normal contractual day and extend beyond the normal contractual day. • Assist in arrangement of transportation, chaperones, security, custodial help, and assistance at all appropriate activities in-county and out-of-county. • Ride the bus to and from activities, staying until the last student leaves from that activity. • Responsible for the care, cleaning, and securing of all school and District property. • Report all accidents/injuries to the Intramural Director and/or administrator as prescribed by District policies. • Adhere to District policies and procedures; abide by and enforce School Board policies on tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. • Serve as a liaison between faculty, administration, students, and the community. • Administer First Aid/CPR/AED as needed for illness, injury, or life-threatening emergencies per certification training guidelines.
