General Definition of Work: Learning Technology Integrators (LTIs) are a part of the professional development system and Department of Technology in Albemarle County Public Schools. The mission/vision of the Learning Technology Team is to foster collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and citizenship through the use of digital tools and resources in the classroom. LTIs are certified teachers who partner with instructional staff, students, and administration within assigned schools through collaborative planning, modeling, reflecting, and co-teaching. In addition, LTIs provide individual, job-embedded, small, and large-group professional learning. They work collaboratively with school administrators to support school-wide goals. Additionally, LTIs promote the responsible use of technology and support digital citizenship in a school community.

Essential Functions:

• Engages in reflective conversations with teachers;

• Builds and maintains professional relationships with teachers;

• Supports collaboration across schools;

• Connects educators and students to authentic audiences and global resources;

• Facilitates school-based, high-quality, job-embedded professional learning experiences for educators;

• Works with teachers (in teams or individually) to enhance their knowledge and skills through co-developing tech-infused lesson plans that support student needs;

• Engages in ongoing professional growth and self-directed learning to acquire the contemporary knowledge and skills necessary to effectively impact the instructional practices of teachers;

• Actively supports key deliverables with our department's approach to digital equity;

• Works closely with instructional staff to increase accessibility in the classroom for all learners through the use of assistive technology;

• Actively supports the implementation of Albemarle County Public Schools strategic plan;

• Collaborates with instructional staff to implement digital citizenship and digital literacy in assigned schools;

• Works closely with instructional coaches, librarians, and other teacher support staff;

• Partners with division and Department of Technology staff to develop technology solutions to meet complex school, educator, and student needs;

• Collaborates with technology support specialists to identify educator and staff needs and provide technology training;

• Conducts and supports learning software and technology reviews;

• Develops related support documents and resources regarding educational technology;

• Collaborates with school administration on school-wide instructional technology goals;

• Serves as an active member of the school technology committee, the Learning Technology team and the Department of Technology;

• Submits daily reports on work performed;

• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for working effectively with faculty and staff. Uses best practices to provide professional learning to both small and large groups of adult educators. Knowledge of research-based strategies for adult learners and a strong ability to facilitate effective professional learning opportunities for small and large groups of educators. Strong understanding of contemporary technologies, digital citizenship practices, educational technology research, and the instructional frameworks that guide the Effective integration of technology (e.g. SAMR, TPACK). Knowledge and understanding of equity and access (e.g. Universal Design for Learning) issues in the school community. Skilled in analyzing and using data for instructional decision-making. Experience with co-designing high-quality lesson plans and projects that meet Standards of Learning objectives and effectively integrate technology. Understanding of the Division's educational technology and strategic plan. Experience with instructional design and the development of classes in a learning management system. Experience with web and graphic design.

Education and Experience: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required. Must be certified as a teacher in Virginia or eligible to be certified in Virginia. Also requires experience in implementing instructional technologies in an educational setting, developing and presenting staff development for adult learners, and leading education projects. (NOTE: This is a 10-month position compensated on the Teacher Salary Scale.) Tenure or a comparable amount of experience in the classroom is preferred.
