PLAIN LOCAL SCHOOLS JOB DESCRIPTION RECEPTIONIST - Part-time QUALIFICATIONS: *High School diploma or equivalent *Experience as a secretary and/or receptionist or willingness to train *High level of computer skills and software experience *Proficiency in standard business software, including: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Applications. *Basic graphic design (AI, InDesign, Photoshop) not required but a plus. *Website management experience (and CMS platforms) not required but a plus. *Strong attention to detail in both visual and written form with exceptional proofreading skills. *Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find necessary EMPLOYMENT TERMS: *Salary and work year to be established by the Board REPORTS TO: *Business Manager and Communications Coordinator JOB GOAL: *Act as a confidential employee who provides central office administrators a high level of support, clerical and otherwise EVALUATION: *Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: *Operate a computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, fax machine, and all other types of office equipment at a high level of competency *Understand capabilities of telephone / communications operating system *Receive, direct and relay telephone messages and fax messages *Distribute and direct employment postings to the appropriate office *Direct all complaints, problems, or compliments in a discreet manner to the appropriate personnel *Serve as receptionist to all who enter the Administrative Offices by greeting them in a friendly manner *Daily sort and distribute mail and courier run materials from schools *Responsible for mail & other deliveries, both receipt (sorting & distribution) and disbursement, making sure necessary supplies are on hand *Type, run and/or distribute materials needing to be sent out to the schools *Work with the Business Office to make sure all office equipment is repaired as the need arises *Coordinate/process special projects as assigned by the Coordinator of Communications, Superintendent, Business Manager, Ass't Superintendent, and Treasurer *Order and maintain inventory of supplies for building and office use *Update district calendar and keep a record of meeting room reservations *Take responsibility for bulletin boards and official postings in the office *Take responsibility for the appearance of the office maintaining a clean and welcoming environment *Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures *Perform other duties as directed
