School year only position, 8 hours per day, M-F, typical schedule 8:30am-4:30pm Start date: ASAP Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Early Childhood and CDA preferred, High School Diploma required
• Training in High Scope Curriculum
• Ability to work effectively with pre-school age children 3-5 years of age, parents, and co-workers
• Awareness of child development theory and practices
• Ability to develop appropriate curriculum
• Ability to treat children with kindness and respect
• Self-motivated, dependable and responsible
• Must be available and able to perform functions of the job
• CPR, First Aide Certificate preferred
• Reliable attendance record
Job Duties
• Instruction of pre-school aged children(3-5 years old)
• Develop daily schedule of activities and lessons
• Respond quickly to emergency situations
• Available and responsive to all children
• Treats all children of all ages, races, religions family backgrounds and cultures with equal respect and consideration
• Anticipates and eliminates potential problems, redirecting children to more acceptable behavior or activity
• Guide children in resolving conflicts by modeling skills that help children to solve their individual problems
• Effective and respectful collaboration with colleagues, service providers, and supervisors
• Lift a minimum of 40 lbs
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
