About this role

MIGRANT TUTOR A migrant tutor provides tutoring services to students ages 3-21 who have been identified as migrant students. Services can and will be provided in either the students' homes or in their schools. Successful applicant should posess an outgoing personality and positive attitude, as well as a willingness to work in a wide variety of locations with underserved students. Position Type: Full Time (190 Day Contract) Yearly Salary: $29,956 Typical Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8am - 4pm Friday, 8am - 3:30pm Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License

• Reliable Transportation

• An Associates degree or equivalent, preferably in education.

• Bilingual capabilities are helpful but not required

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to provide services throughout an eight county area during the school year One required state program training outside of NWA for 3-4 days Required travel will be reimbursed by NWAESC per NWAESC policy Duties of the Migrant Tutor will include but not be limited to the following:

• Work under the direction of the Cooperative Director, Migrant State Director and Migrant Program Specialist.

• Work with students individually or in groups; 3 years thru 21 years of age.

• Work in collaboration with school personnel, (counselors, secretaries, etc.) and families to best serve the students.

• Obtain training and information to remain current of the Migrant Education Program requirements and standards.

• Provide Out of School Youth instructional support in Reading, GED & Life Skills.

• Follow NWA Education Service Cooperative policies and procedures, as well as the State and Federal guidelines in all aspects of job performance.

• Maintain ethical standards of professional practice including confidentiality in all matters related to cooperative business.

• Complete all forms, reports, surveys, and other required documentation in an accurate, timely manner and keep such information organized in order to achieve positive job performance.

• Utilize technology as required to promote efficient, effective program operations.

Performance Factors/Job Competencies:

• Effective Communication Skills (verbal and written) in order to collect, document and report data accurately.

• Build collaborative relationships

• Must have reliable transportation; job requires a lot of travel in your own vehicle, and mileage will be paid per NWAESC policy, currently reimbursed at the rate of $.52/mile.
