About this role
Long-Term Substitute (Maternity Leave Coverage) Estimated duration will be January 4th through April 5th. Key Responsibilities
• Implement and monitor progress on students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including goals, accommodations, and modifications
• Provide direct instruction in [resource room / co-taught / self-contained] settings across core content areas
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications within inclusive classrooms
• Collect and document data on student progress toward IEP goals
• Prepare for and, where applicable, participate in IEP meetings, annual reviews, and re-evaluations
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals/instructional aides assigned to the classroom
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education law (IDEA) and district timelines
• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior support strategies and any existing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Coordinate with related service providers (speech, OT/PT, counseling, etc.)
• Maintain accurate and timely records, including attendance, grades, and IEP documentation
• Provide a smooth transition plan for the returning teacher at the end of the assignment
