Job Title: Pre-K Before & After Care Program Lead- Part Time Job Title Code: 02329 Salary Grade: Flat Rate $20 per hour Department: Early Learning / Pre-K Programs Reports To: Assistant Director of Pre-K Programs FLSA Status: non exempt Purpose of Job: The Pre-K Before & After Care Program Lead serves as the liaison for the extended-day component of the Pre-K programs. This includes adherence to licensing child care requirements in regards to safety, staffing, and high-quality developmentally appropriate experiences. What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities) Other duties as assigned:

• Monitor staff-to-child ratios to ensure compliance with licensing regulations.

• Provide float coverage support when needed to maintain staff-to-child ratios.

• Identify and notify Pre-K leadership of potential safety concerns or program needs related to supplies.

• Prepare, organize and maintain required documentation and records such as daily attendance, meal counts, and internal tracking requirements.

• Ensure each location has required emergency contact information for each student.

• Support implementation of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.

• Assist with communication and coordination between school leadership, staff, and families.

• Treats children, families and colleagues with professionalism and supports a positive work environment that aligns with the values of KCPS and Conscious Discipline.

• Follows district guidelines for reporting incidents of suspected abuse, neglect or contagious disease.

• Utilizes relevant district software and technology effectively in the performance of duties. Completes paperwork according to assigned timelines and follows code of conduct and confidentiality policies.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility or early childhood setting.

• Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

• Clearances: Must Pass all required background checks, including family care, safety registry, and fingerprinting.

In Order to #LevelUp in This Role, You'll Need: (Preferred Qualifications)

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood.

• Previous experience in a "Lead" or supervisory role within an educational setting.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

• Bilingual skills (if applicable to your specific school community).

Physical Demands: This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds. The job requires the employee occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Terms of Employment: Length of work year: In person,10 months, Part time- 25 hours or under per week. This is a split position requiring support for am/pm extended care.
