This unique and impactful role requires a passionate educator who can thrive in a dynamic, non-traditional setting. The ideal candidate possesses strong classroom management skills, proficiency with blended and online learning platforms, and a deep commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students who require an alternative path to success. (Broad academic background) Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the Alternative Learning Lab (ALL), including monitoring student progress across core subjects such as Math, English, Science, and Social Studies using approved online/blended curricula.

• Provide differentiation based on the individual student needs and goals that were identified upon referral to the ALL.

• Provide small-group and individual instruction to help students understand coursework, complete assignments, and earn credits towards graduation.

• Communicate with students, families, counselors, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress and challenges.

• Use online education platforms to enroll students in assigned courses, monitor progress towards course completion; the ALL teacher will serve as a resource for other school staff on the adopted online education platform.

• Serve as the teacher of record for students completing coursework through the alternative learning setting, including entering grades on a weekly basis. ? Work with core classroom teachers to ensure students with alternative learning plans are receiving instruction that will allow them to master the learning standards required by NMPED.

• In collaboration with other school staff, including counselors, provide mentorship to students, assist with academic challenges, and model/coach self-regulation and coping strategies in order to help students work through challenges and conflicts and successfully re-engage with their education.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field. Valid State Teaching Certification/License in a core academic subject (e.g., Secondary Math, English Language Arts, Social Studies, or Science), or the ability to obtain licensure. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with at-risk youth or students in alternative education settings. Experience with trauma-informed educational practices. Experience with online learning platforms. Skills and Abilities Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple student cases and instructional modalities simultaneously. Strong classroom and behavior management skills with the ability to maintain a calm, focused, and orderly workspace. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues. The ability to build strong, positive, and trusting relationships with students who may have faced previous academic or personal obstacles. A resourceful, flexible, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
