The State College Area School District is currently accepting applications for an Elementary STEM Teacher. The ability to establish relationships with students and collaborate with colleagues is critical to success in this position. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to diversity and recognize that equity and inclusivity are foundational to ensuring every student has opportunities to grow, thrive and fulfill their potential through caring, responsive education. The District seeks dynamic educators who are student-focused and have knowledge of both theory and practice specific to the education of STEM learners. The elementary program (K-5) uses the Engineering Design Process to engage students in applying problem-solving strategies and skills to classroom assignments and real-world scenarios. Many projects include coding, 3-D printing and design, and robotics. Organizational and collaborative skills are critical to success in this position. The ideal candidate will possess a growth mindset and a willingness to learn alongside students, as new technologies and tools emerge. Cross-curricular collaboration is an important component of this position.
