• Bachelor's degree preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Three years' experience in security/public safety work
• Training in conflict resolution
• Exceptions to the above qualifications shall be made as the Superintendent deems appropriate.
Job Goal: Provides security in the high school setting. Reports To: Under the general supervision of the principal. Performance Responsibilities:
• Ability to de-escalate student to student conflict and student to teacher conflict.
• Friendly, comfortable working with high school students.
• Familiarity with email, text messaging, and data entry.
• Monitors building activity to ensure student safety by walking the building frequently.
• Monitors and enforces parking procedures, checks parking identification stickers, and parking lots.
• Monitors cafeteria as needed.
• Assists the administration as needed by electronically recording student attendance.
• Stands outside before and after school to oversee students entering and leaving the building; boarding buses; etc.
• De-escalate student to student conflict.
• Assists in student search when applicable.
• Assists teachers on an as-needed basis.
• Assists administrators with emergencies.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Principal.
• Other duties as needed.
Certification/License:
• ALICE (or equivalent) Safety training preferred
• Safety Care (or equivalent) Restraint training preferred
