Title: Community Partnerships Coordinator Classification: Admin Support FLSA Status: Exempt Immediate Supervisor: Superintendent Job Summary The Community Partnerships Coordinator develops, coordinates, and strengthens relationships between Waterloo Community Schools and the broader community. The Coordinator serves as a key district connector with businesses, community organizations, alumni, volunteers, civic groups, families, and other stakeholders. The position is responsible for expanding community partnerships, strengthening alumni engagement, coordinating community outreach and events, developing volunteer and ambassador opportunities, and creating meaningful ways for community members to connect with and support Waterloo Schools. The position also helps ensure district leadership remains connected to community needs, feedback, and opportunities. This position requires the use of independent judgment, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to represent the district professionally throughout the community. Hiring Specifications: Education
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferred
• Coursework or graduate work related to communications, public relations, community engagement, education, business, nonprofit leadership, or a related field, desired

• Experience in community relations, community engagement, public relations, nonprofit work, education, business development, or a related field, desired ? Job Duties
• Develops, builds, and maintains positive relationships between Waterloo Community Schools and businesses, nonprofit organizations, civic organizations, neighborhood groups, educational institutions, and other community partners.
• Serves as a primary district connector for individuals and organizations interested in partnering with or supporting Waterloo Schools.
• Identifies and develops new community partnerships that support district goals, schools, students, staff, and families.
• Develops and coordinates a districtwide alumni engagement strategy designed to strengthen connections with graduates of Waterloo Schools.
• Builds and maintains an alumni network and creates opportunities for alumni to remain connected to and involved with the district.
• Develops and maintains organized databases and contact networks of alumni, community partners, business leaders, volunteers, civic organizations, and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinates opportunities for alumni and community members to volunteer, mentor, serve as ambassadors, participate in district initiatives, and support Waterloo Schools.
• Coordinates and supports district community engagement activities, including community events, open houses, tours, celebrations, alumni activities, partnership events, and other special projects.
• Represents the district at community organizations, meetings, events, and activities to strengthen the visibility and relationships of Waterloo Schools throughout the community.
• Regularly attends meetings and events of neighborhood associations, chambers of commerce, service organizations, civic groups, business organizations, and other key community associations.
• Develops and strengthens relationships with organizations representing the diverse populations and neighborhoods served by Waterloo Community Schools.
• Serves as a liaison between community organizations and appropriate district departments, schools, programs, and staff.
• Works with district and school leaders to identify opportunities where community partners can provide expertise, mentorship, experiences, volunteers, resources, or other support for students and schools.
• Coordinates and supports districtwide volunteer initiatives and works to increase meaningful community involvement within Waterloo Schools.
• Develops opportunities for businesses, alumni, parents, and community members to serve as district ambassadors and advocates.
• Builds relationships with former employees and retirees and identifies opportunities for them to remain connected to Waterloo Schools.
• Supports community engagement surrounding major district initiatives, facilities, programs, and strategic priorities.
• Works collaboratively with the Communications Manager and Marketing & Brand Specialist to promote community partnerships, alumni stories, volunteer opportunities, events, and other positive district connections.
• Identifies positive stories, partnerships, alumni accomplishments, and community connections and shares them with district communications and marketing staff for promotion.
• Creates opportunities for two-way communication between the district and community and helps gather feedback from community members, partners, alumni, and other stakeholders.
• Communicates relevant community feedback, concerns, opportunities, and emerging issues to the Superintendent and appropriate district leaders.
• Coordinates special projects, activities, and events involving community organizations, businesses, alumni, civic leaders, and other external partners.
• Works with employee groups, schools, departments, and community partners on special activities, projects, and events.
• Advocates district goals, priorities, programs, and initiatives while building greater community understanding and support for Waterloo Schools.
• Attends Board meetings or other district meetings when requested and serves as a resource regarding community partnerships, alumni engagement, volunteer initiatives, and community relations.
• Adheres to high ethical standards and demonstrates professionalism when acting as a representative of the district.
• Keeps the Superintendent and appropriate district leaders advised of relevant community relations matters, partnership opportunities, and stakeholder concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
