We are focused on ensuring every student in La Joya ISD has access to a high-quality, best-fit school as we work to improve from a B-district to an A-rated district. We serve more than 22,000 students in more than 30 schools and span six municipalities, covering more than 220 square miles. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking a Site Coordinator who can lead, coordinate, and continuously improve the Texas ACE Program to increase student academic achievement and support campus improvement efforts. The Site Coordinator will serve as the campus leader for extended learning, ensuring high-quality academic programming, enrichment opportunities, family engagement, and community partnerships are intentionally aligned with the goals and priorities of the school. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success using student, program, and campus data to identify needs, develop targeted interventions, and monitor progress toward improved student outcomes. You must be able to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners while developing a deep understanding of the campus culture, strengths, and areas for growth. This role requires strategic leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with the Principal, teachers, and district leadership to implement evidence-based practices that increase student participation, academic success, and overall program quality. • Bachelor's Degree required; preferred in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
• Master's Degree preferred
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in a core content area preferred
• Candidates without certification may be considered if they demonstrate three (3) or more years of successful classroom teaching experience, instructional leadership, and demonstrated ability to support academic programming and student outcomes
Experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years teaching required
• Experience working with at-risk students required
• Experience implementing family engagement strategies and collaborating with community partners is preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred, including program staff management.
Special Knowledge and Skills
• Proven success leading programs that improve student academic, enrichment, and campus outcomes through data-informed decision making.
• Experience with extended learning, Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC), after-school, or summer programs preferred.
• Understanding of student development, including social-emotional and behavioral needs
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including the ability to analyze academic, attendance, participation, and behavioral data to inform interventions and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and TX21st data management systems.
• Experience supporting diverse student populations, including students with special needs.
• Ability to de-escalate conflict and support crisis situations
• Ability to build relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Executive Leadership
• Serve as a transformational leader committed to creating a high-quality out-of-school-time learning environment that supports student achievement, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in professional development, Texas ACE training, and technical assistance to strengthen knowledge and skills related to program implementation and assigned responsibilities.
• Foster collaboration, teamwork, and effective two-way communication among Texas ACE staff, campus leadership, students, families, and community partners.
• Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior while serving as a positive role model for students and Texas ACE staff.
• Collaborate with the campus principal and Texas ACE leadership to align program goals and activities with identified student needs, campus improvement goals, and Texas ACE grant objectives.
System Leadership:
• Lead the implementation of high-quality academic, enrichment, family engagement, and summer learning programming aligned with Texas ACE requirements, campus priorities, and identified student needs.
• Collaborate with the Principal and campus staff to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive out-of-school-time learning environment aligned with school-day instruction and campus improvement goals.
• Support the implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), High-Impact Tutoring (HIT), and other evidence-based instructional practices to improve student academic outcomes.
• Develop and implement student recruitment, retention, engagement, and intervention strategies that support Texas ACE participation goals and address identified academic, attendance, and behavioral needs.
• Collect, monitor, and analyze student attendance, participation, academic progress, and program data to evaluate effectiveness, identify areas of need, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Texas ACE summer programming in collaboration with campus and district leadership.
• Ensure campus program implementation and documentation comply with TEA Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Cycle 13 Program Guidelines and district requirements.
• Participate in campus leadership, planning, and decision-making committees, including the Instructional Leadership Team and site-based decision-making committee, as assigned.
Professional Learning Community (PLC's)
• Support campus PLCs by providing student participation, attendance, academic, and program implementation data to inform instructional decisions.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify student needs and align extended learning opportunities with targeted academic interventions.
• Partner with teachers to align out-of-school-time programming with classroom instruction, High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), and campus instructional priorities.
• Collaborate with campus leadership to implement evidence-based intervention strategies through Texas ACE out-of-school-time programming.
• Share program outcomes and student progress with campus staff to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
Effective Feedback
• Provide coaching and support to program staff to strengthen instructional practices, student engagement, and program quality.
• Conduct regular observations of program staff and provide timely, actionable feedback to promote continuous improvement.
• Monitor the quality and fidelity of academic, enrichment, and intervention activities to ensure alignment with campus instructional priorities and Texas ACE program requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve the consistency, effectiveness, and implementation of out-of-school-time programming.
• Regularly collaborate with the Instructional Leadership Team regarding the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of Texas ACE programming. Include students, families, and community partners when appropriate.
Culture & Climate
• Create and maintain a positive culture of excellence, support, belonging, and community where students feel safe, valued, and connected.
• Build meaningful relationships and maintain effective communication with students, families, campus staff, and community stakeholders to support student participation and success.
• Collaborate with campus staff to provide high-quality out-of-school-time programming that supports student academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and attendance needs.
• Reinforce district and campus expectations, student conduct standards, and positive behavior practices throughout Texas ACE programming.
• Ensure appropriate student supervision and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment during all Texas ACE programming and activities.
Personnel Management
• Recruit, interview, recommend for hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Texas ACE program staff in accordance with district policies and grant requirements.
• Assign duties, develop work schedules, coordinate staffing coverage, and monitor staff performance to ensure effective delivery and continuity of Texas ACE programming.
• Provide leadership, coaching, feedback, and professional development to Texas ACE staff to strengthen staff capacity and support high-quality program implementation.
• Prepare, verify, approve, and submit required payroll documentation, including K12 overtime requests, additional duty stipends, attendance, and time records, in accordance with district procedures and timelines.
• Monitor staff compliance with district policies, Texas ACE grant requirements, and program expectations, and maintain accurate documentation related to staff assignments, performance, professional development, and employment recommendations.
• Collaborate with campus and district leadership to identify staffing needs and support continuous program improvement.
School or Community Relations
• Communicate and promote the mission, goals, programs, and opportunities of Texas ACE to students, families, community members, and stakeholders through regular communication and participation in campus, district, and community events.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead meaningful family engagement activities and services that respond to identified needs and support student academic success, social-emotional development, and family involvement.
• Develop and sustain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, higher education institutions, volunteers, and other stakeholders to expand opportunities and resources for students and families.
• Facilitate the Campus Texas ACE Steering Committee and engage students, families, campus staff, and community partners in program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with families, campus staff, and community partners to promote student recruitment, regular attendance, participation, and continued engagement in Texas ACE programming.
Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions
• Plan and coordinate campus Texas ACE operations, schedules, and resources to provide high-quality academic, enrichment, family engagement, and summer programming aligned with campus needs and grant objectives.
• Maintain and submit accurate and timely program records, data, and reports, including student enrollment, attendance, participation, payroll documentation, inventories, program activities, and required entries into district and TEA-approved data management systems.
• Monitor program expenditures, assist with budget planning, and coordinate purchasing of supplies, materials, equipment, and services in accordance with district procedures and grant requirements.
• Coordinate daily program operations and support services, including facilities, transportation, meals, technology, scheduling, and other logistics necessary for successful program implementation.
• Maintain safe, organized, and appropriate program environments by monitoring facilities, addressing safety or facility concerns, and following campus safety procedures and emergency protocols.
• Ensure compliance with district policies, state and federal requirements, and applicable Texas ACE/Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant requirements.
Metrics of Success
• Demonstrates measurable improvement in student academic performance, particularly in reading and mathematics, using STAAR, district benchmarks, High-Impact Tutoring (HIT), MAP, and other approved student outcome data.
• Demonstrates progress toward identified campus and student goals, including improvements in attendance, behavior, engagement, academic performance, and other campus improvement priorities.
• Meets assigned Texas ACE student enrollment, regular participation, High-Impact Tutoring (HIT), recruitment, retention, and other grant-required performance targets.
• Meets family engagement and community participation requirements, maintains meaningful community partnerships, and facilitates an effective Campus Texas ACE Steering Committee.
• Uses student, campus, and program data to monitor performance, identify gaps, evaluate program effectiveness, and implement timely continuous improvement strategies.
• Maintains compliance with Texas ACE Cycle 13 requirements, including accurate and timely data and documentation, fiscal and operational accountability, and satisfactory performance on TEA monitoring and Texas ACE quality indicators.
• Demonstrates effective recruitment, training, supervision, coaching, and evaluation of Texas ACE after-school staff to ensure high-quality program implementation, staff accountability, and alignment with campus and Texas ACE goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises all Texas ACE personnel assigned to the campus, including additional duty staff and part-time grant-funded employees. Responsible for staff supervision, coaching, performance monitoring, scheduling, payroll documentation, professional development, and ensuring compliance with district policies and Texas ACE grant requirements. WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Demands Typical demands of a school environment, including extensive computer use and district-wide travel for meetings and events. Lifting and carrying of books, boxes, and audiovisual equipment, light (15-20 pounds), climbing, stretching, visual acuity, walking, pulling, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, sitting, kneeling, standing, and twisting, may be required to control behavior through physical restraint. Work Environment Primarily school-based with regular interaction with district staff, educators, students, families, and community members. Campus visits will be required as needed and as a part of ensuring program implementation with fidelity and monitoring of service delivery models. Attendance at evening or weekend events may be required. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Reading, supporting instruction, demonstrating computer skills appropriate for assignment, effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well with students, concentration (detailed work), interpretive skills (policy, procedure, dates), reasoning skills, understanding verbal instructions, analyzing, differentiating, memorizing, coordinating, compiling, and computing.
