Needham Public Schools is an inclusive, dynamic, and multicultural community seeking an energetic and skilled part-time Office/Recess Aide to join our team. The part-time office aide will also support students at lunch, recess and dismissal. Read more about our equity work here. Essential Job Responsibilities Duties will include:
• Complete light office work
• Supervise students at lunch and recess, with support from additional staff member
• Supervise afternoon student departures
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions
• Understanding of elementary-aged children
• Ability to make decisions at the moment to ensure the safety of all students
• Ability to establish a supportive environment for all students
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members
• Ability to maintain confidential information regarding students and families
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to stand and work both indoors and outdoors for multiple hours
• Interest in and appreciation for elementary school students
Hours 10:45am-3:15pm (4.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday); months of September and October. Compensation: Please review the Unit D Contract and this page to learn more about employee compensation and benefits. Hourly Rate range: AR1 $21.02-$23.30 (SY26 rate) Qualifications Experience working with children in active settings is a plus.
