JOB TITLE: Yearbook Advisor Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the overall development and production of the elementary school yearbook.
• Work with the designated yearbook publishing company and serve as the primary school contact.
• Establish and maintain a production timeline to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Recruit, organize, and supervise students assisting with the yearbook.
• Provide students with instruction and guidance in areas such as photography, writing, interviewing, page design, captions, and proofreading.
• Coordinate the collection and organization of photographs throughout the school year.
• Take or coordinate photographs of students, staff, classrooms, activities, clubs, special events, and other school-related activities.
• Ensure photographs and other yearbook content are appropriate and accurately represent the school.
• Coordinate the collection of student and staff names, class information, group photographs, and other necessary information.
• Review all yearbook pages, photographs, captions, names, and other content for accuracy, appropriateness, and quality prior to submission.
• Maintain communication with teachers and school staff regarding photographs, classroom pages, and special events.
• Coordinate the selection and inclusion of school activities, programs, and special events in the yearbook.
• Assist with the development of the yearbook cover, theme, page layouts, and other design elements.
• Monitor and communicate yearbook sales and ordering information to students, parents/guardians, and staff as directed by the school.
• Coordinate the distribution of completed yearbooks.
• Maintain appropriate records related to yearbook orders, deadlines, and production.
• Follow all school and county policies and procedures, including requirements related to student privacy, photography, technology use, and appropriate student supervision.
• Protect the confidentiality of student information and use student photographs and information only for authorized school purposes.
• Maintain appropriate communication with parents/guardians, students, staff, and the yearbook company.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
