About this role
PRIMARY PURPOSE: A working Plumber that provides direction and guidance when Foreman is not available. QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or G.E.D. required
• Ability to speak, read and understand the English language
• Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver's requirement
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 days SALARY/PAYGRADE: $30.67/HS-12 Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Minimum 7 years experience in the trade
• Complete working knowledge of codes and ordinances concerning Plumbing systems
• Read, comprehend and edit specifications and prints for new construction
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform all responsibilities of a Plumber I, II, III and IV
• Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees
• Serve as first contact for problems, concerns or grievances
• Make recommendations concerning advancement and discipline of staff to Foreman
• Approve purchases, work orders and daily business when Foreman is not available
• Meet with Foreman daily to review and update jobs
• Coordinate and assist in department with modifications, work orders, emergencies and large projects as needed to complete assignments
• Perform other duties assigned by Foreman
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
• Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
• Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Ability to work alone.
• Ability to keep information confidential.
