QualificationsTo qualify for an IT Specialist (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Prepares and updates as necessary throughout the information system life cycle, cost-benefit analysis for major IT systems or investments (at a level of detail appropriate to the size of the investment). - Develops baseline and projected IT requirements for their management. - Integrates information systems planning with plans for resource allocation and use, including budgeting, acquisition, and maintenance of information technology systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Major DutiesServes as a IT Specialist in the Data Center Management section, Technology Foundation Services service area within the Defense Logistics Agency.Provides guidance and project management of systems management, infrastructure support, worldwide information datacenter center support, and production management for the operations at the Defense Logistics Agency Enterprise Data Centers.Performs various duties associated with the implementation and maintenance of strategic and capital planning for Information Technologies (IT) projects, proposals, acquisitions, and continued maintenance using sound project management technologies.Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures, and architectures that establishes the framework for the management of a computing operation at an Enterprise Data Center.Provides analysis, planning, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of cross-organization projects which aligns with data center management strategies with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization.
