Annual Salary: $46,215.00 - $48,672.00 Hourly: $23.70 - $24.96 Department: Culture & Recreation, Grounds Maintenance Division: Park & Landscape Maintenance FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: In this role, you will lead a grounds maintenance crew in the upkeep of parks facilities using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
Examples of Duties:
• Supervises crew cleaning and maintaining City Ballfields. • Maintains condition of equipment and tools, including: lawnmowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, and hand tools. • Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used. • Leads workers in the general maintenance of Park Ballfields. • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. • Interprets policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. • Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties. • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of output. • Suggests changes in processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. • Maintains time and production records. • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of the division. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree (AA/AS), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
• May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. • In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
