Your Role
Do you have experience creating digital news content for young audiences, with your finger on the pulse of digital media trends? Can you combine creativity with journalistic integrity to make current events engaging for youth? If so, we want to hear from you!
In this role, you will work for Radio-Canada Television’s Digital Youth Content team, producing original content that breaks down current events for French-speaking audiences aged 9-13. Working in a fully collaborative environment, you will partner with journalists, production crews and young on-camera talent to craft engaging news formats for our young audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conceive and produce video content for digital programming, social channels, ICI TOU.TV and youth television. • Plan and script dynamic short- and long-form video content. • Oversee video shoots and direct young on-camera talent. • Develop creative packaging and platform-native copy tailored to digital audiences. • Execute simple video edits optimized for social media best practices. • Select short- and long-form clips to maximize content reach across digital channels. • Participate in creative brainstorms, evaluate team needs and contribute to the production schedule. • Stay ahead of platform-specific trends and best practices. • Maintain a strategic vision aligned with objectives set by the Content Manager. • Analyze performance metrics, deliver actionable recommendations and refine strategies accordingly. • Drive brand interest and enhance content discoverability.
Your profile:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in youth content production or a related media production role. • Valid driver’s licence.
Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of digital/social platforms and youth content trends. • Exceptional ability to break down complex current events for a young audience. • Keen interest in and strong knowledge of current affairs. • Strong leadership and communication skills. • Passion for collaborative teamwork and pitching original ideas. • Extensive experience directing shoots and managing production crews. • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and professional tact when interacting with public figures and digital production teams. • Hands-on experience with video capture. • Strong ability to use video processing tools. • Ability to quickly master new software, including content management systems (CMSs) and internal video workflows. • Excellent command of written French. • A natural instinct for digital formatting, copywriting and platform best practices. • Meticulous attention to detail and high standards for work quality. • Ability to work independently in the field and demonstrate strong initiative. • Superior organizational and time-management skills. • Ability to adapt and prioritize effectively. • Ability to thrive under pressure. • Deep understanding of digital user behaviour to deliver impactful, engaging formats. • Ability to track emerging trends and translate them into actionable recommendations. • Proficiency with the Adobe Premiere editing suite. • Strong understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s strategic direction and corporate vision.
