Assistant Financial Accountant (AP/AR) Roermond - Limburg - Vast Bedrijfsprofiel Smurfit Westrock Paper Services (SWPS) is a multifunctional service unit within the international Smurfit Westrock organization. They provide sales, supply chain, IT&IS, and financial services to various business units in Europe. In addition, from their office in Roermond, they handle the administrative and operational processing for 16 paper mills across Europe. This includes full financial processing, supply chain planning, and other support processes. Functieomschrijving As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you are part of the Finance team and contribute to a wide range of financial processes for internal Smurfit Westrock factories and (back)offices, as well as external suppliers across Europe. You make sure that the accounts payable and receivable flows are processed correctly, on time, and clearly. Some of your tasks include: - Checking invoices for accuracy and resolving discrepancies - Monitoring the payment process (in cooperation with the Shared Service Center) - Managing and analyzing accounts payable and receivable positions - Keeping in touch with internal and external stakeholders - Helping out with month-end closings and audits - Providing support for internal and external audits - Spotting opportunities for improvement and contributing to process optimization You interact with different parties daily and quickly learn how financial processes work within an international organization.
