Business manager As operational manager, you are responsible for keeping the operation running smoothly. Behind the scenes, your duties include personnel management, cash management, stock management and ordering, implementing improvements, administration, record-keeping and organising events. In addition to your behind-the-scenes tasks, you are hands-on on the floor. You are the point of contact for service staff, train new colleagues, and know how to motivate and coach current staff. When it unexpectedly gets busy, you know how to adapt, keep a cool head, and above all, you thrive on this kind of situation. As an operational manager, you set an example and know better than anyone that the guest comes first. In addition, you are a connector and a people manager.
