About this role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Lab Technician to join our team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will support daily laboratory operations by ensuring samples, materials, reagents, and quality control activities are handled accurately and in compliance with GMP requirements. As a Lab Technician, you will play an important role in maintaining an efficient and compliant laboratory environment, supporting sample flow, inventory processes, testing activities, documentation, and equipment management.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing sample receipt, registration, storage, and handling in accordance with applicable procedures
• Supporting sample management activities to ensure correct traceability and storage conditions
• Managing laboratory inventory, including incoming and outgoing goods, reagent availability, and stock control
• Coordinating waste management activities in line with internal procedures and safety requirements
• Preparing reagents and laboratory materials for routine QC activities
• Performing QC tests, including extractible volume, pH, appearance, manual inspection, and HIAC testing for sub-visible particles
• Recording test results and laboratory data accurately in GLIMS in compliance with GMP requirements
• Supporting equipment maintenance, calibration, and routine checks to ensure laboratory readiness
• Reviewing laboratory documentation and supporting document control activities
• Monitoring and tracking KPIs to support operational performance and continuous improvement
• Communicating deviations, observations, or operational issues to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner
• Contributing to a safe, compliant, and well-organized laboratory working environment
• Bachelor degree or HBO degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
• Experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within Quality Control or a GMP-regulated setting
• Hands-on experience with routine QC testing is preferred
• Experience with sample management, reagent preparation, and laboratory documentation is an advantage
• Familiarity with GMP documentation requirements and laboratory systems such as GLIMS is preferred
• Experience with equipment maintenance and calibration support is an advantage
• Accurate, structured, and quality-minded way of working
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written; Dutch is considered a plus
