About this role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Raw Material Chemist to join our team. As a Raw Material Chemist, you will play a critical role in the testing, evaluation, and quality control of raw material samples. Your expertise will drive product innovation, quality assurance, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed chemical and physical analyses of raw materials using techniques such as the following, including but not limited to:Spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis)Chromatography (HPLC, GC, TLC)DissolutionPotentiometric Titrations / AssayViscositypHConductivityKarl FisherSpecific GravityLoss on DryingResidue on IgnitionOversee the quality control of incoming raw materials and ensure their compliance with company standards. Troubleshoot any material-related issues.Proven ability to analyze raw material issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.Strong experience with HPLC and GC testing/techniques and Empower softwareAbility to troubleshoot instrument / equipment issuesPerform method verifications / validations on new methodsPerform calibration of instrument / equipmentMaintain meticulous, accurate and precise records of specifications, test methods, testing data, results, and any deviations from standard procedures.Evaluate test results for accuracyReview / Release raw data, documentation and results for Certificate of AnalysisPrepare detailed reports for management and regulatory purposes.Author / revise technical documents including but not limited to specifications, test methods, method verification / validation / transfer protocol or reports, SOPs, investigations, etc.Ensure that all raw materials comply with industry regulations and safety standardsKnowledge of current GMP, FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, ISO 17025 and other regulatory requirements as applicable.Working knowledge of computer skills.Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate and precise testing and documentation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly laboratory environment.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Chemistry or other science related fieldExperience: Bachelor’s: Minimum of 6 years or Master’s: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a raw material, chemistry, or quality control role, preferably in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, cosmeticsAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Positions are full-time, working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, overtime as needed.
